DescriptionFelix Klein sought to explain the impression of beauty of a face through mathematical relationships. He traced parabolic curves over the surface of a copy of the Apollo Belvedere which was considered to be the pinnacle of classical beauty. Nevertheless, he admitted himself, that no general law of beauty could be deduced from these lines.
