Custodial HistoryThe core of this division of the Collection was acquired by the Reid Professor of Music in the 19th century or by the Faculty of Music before 1969. Some further instruments were acquired individually by donation since 1969; Items from the Brackenbury Collection were allocated by the Government in 1991; further items on loan.
